Excluding certain ingredients or categories from recipe search

There are times when you want to exclude certain ingredients or categories from a search - you might be cooking for someone with allergies or you might want to do a chicken dish but not a curry.

You should remember though that store-cupboard ingredients such as flour and eggs are not listed in small quantities (less than one cup of flour and less than 4 eggs) so this won't be a completely accurate way to find recipes for food allergies.

  1. Select the ingredient or category from the Category Filters and add it by clicking on the + sign. See the previous question for more information on this.
  2. Click on the + circle, it changes to a - circle and the filter turns black which indicates this ingredient or category will be excluded from your search.

There are further details of this in More information about using Only Show.
