Online recipes: what they are and how to find them

Eat Your Books isn’t a recipe site; it helps you find recipes in the books and magazines you own. When a recipe officially exists on the internet, we link to it. We only link to recipes on an author’s or publisher’s own site, or where they’ve given permission for the recipe to be published, out of respect for their copyright.

Online recipes come from:

  1. Blogs and websites, which all have online links
  2. Cookbooks, when an official version exists online (usually on an author, publisher, magazine, or newspaper site). See Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi, whose recipes first appeared in the Guardian.
  3. Magazines, when they publish recipes from the printed issue on their website
  4. Member-added recipes, added by any member using the Bookmarklet

Any online recipe can be added to your Bookshelf. To see all online recipes across the Library, tick the “Online Recipes” box in the filters on the right; your results then show only recipes with online links. This is handy when your own collection doesn’t have what you’re craving. When you find the one you want, add it to your Bookshelf. (For more on filtering, see the search article.)
