Indexing as a professional indexer
When you finish an assignment, don't click Submit Book. Complete the Google Form with the details of the book you've just indexed, and we'll take it from there. That's the difference that catches out most new professional indexers, particularly those who started as members.

The standard we hold you to
The indexing rules are the same for everyone. What differs is the margin for error. We review member indexing knowing it's volunteer work. We expect professional work to arrive with the tags already right, so a reviewer is confirming them rather than correcting them.
In practice that means the categories get the most scrutiny. Recipe Type, Ethnicity, Course, Occasion, and Nutrition should be complete on every recipe and consistent with the Recipe Types List, including the cases where the list overrides how the book has arranged its chapters.
Blogs and magazine issues
A blog or magazine issue appears on your assignment list the same way a book does, and most of the work is identical. Blog recipes are already in the system when you get them, because we scrape them from the site first, so your job is to check what came across and index everything the scrape couldn't.
Open the blog in a second tab before you start, so you can read each original alongside its record.
