Give an EYB membership as a gift

Gift memberships cover both Eat Your Books and CookShelf, since one membership includes both.

The recipient redeems the gift themselves, and their membership starts when they redeem it rather than when you buy it.

1. To buy a gift, go to cookshelf.app/gifts. There's also a purchase link on the landing page if you're not a member, or in the right column of your home page if you are.
2. To redeem in the CookShelf app, download CookShelf and sign in, then tap "Redeem code" on the paywall instead of starting a free trial. If you've dismissed the paywall, it's in the Settings menu. If you're asked what type of code, choose "gift". Full steps are in Can I give CookShelf as a gift?
3. Gift memberships only work for someone who doesn't already have an active subscription. If the recipient has an auto-renewing subscription, they should cancel it and redeem the gift once the current term expires.
