Using Eat Your Books as a library patron

If your library has an Eat Your Books membership, you can search the cookbooks on its shelves for the recipe you want before you visit.

Signing in

Ask your library for its access details. At the library, scan the QR code or use the short access URL, with no password needed. From elsewhere, you'll also enter the library username they gave you.

Searching

You'll land on the search page for your library's collection. Search by word, so a recipe title, author, or ingredient, in the green box, or use the filters on the right.

As with all of Eat Your Books, we show ingredients and the page number rather than the full recipe, so you'll borrow the book to cook from it.

Beyond your library

As a patron you can also browse the full catalog of 170,000+ cookbooks, view recipe indexes for the 16,000 indexed books, follow links to 500,000+ online recipes, and open ckbk recipes if you have a ckbk membership.

The library membership doesn't include the CookShelf app, which needs a personal membership.
