Can I use my own categories for my cookbooks and recipes?

Yes. We’ve categorized thousands of books and recipes for you by ethnicity, occasion, special diet, course, and categories like soups and cakes. Bookmarks let you organize your Bookshelf your own way, with names that mean something to you.

Members use Bookmarks to:

  1. track which room, or which house, a cookbook lives in
  2. plan menus
  3. mark a book or recipe as a family member’s favorite
  4. flag recipes to try for a particular occasion
  5. gather favorite recipes for one ingredient, like tomatoes or zucchini

There are also three built-in Bookmarks: I’ve Cooked This (green chef’s hat), I Want to Cook This (orange chef’s hat), and Favorite. For more, see Using Bookmarks.
