I keep my cookbooks in two locations. Do I need two Bookshelves?

Just one. Tag each cookbook with a Bookmark for its location (“City home,” “Beach house,” wherever your books live). If the same book is in two places, give it both tags. When you search for recipes, filter by location under Only Show (in the right column) to search across just the books within reach. See Using Bookmarks.
